8-12 Weeks

Wow! I have been slacking in the blog department but we have been so busy I haven't had the chance to actually sit down and do this until today. First of all, when Hannah was 8 weeks old, she had her 2 month physical. She weiged 11 lbs, 8 oz and was 23 inches long! The doctor was very pleased with her check-up and said she is growing beautifully and is a very healthy girl. The bad part about her visit was the first round of immunizations. She did wonderfully but I was a mess...not sure if Hannah or I cried more! Thankfully, they didn't make her feel badly afterwards nor did they make her run a fever.

On March 5th, my Mom hosted and some of her friends hosted a fabulous Sip and See for Hannah. Mom's house was decorated so pretty with all her sterling serving peices and gorgeous flower arrangements. My aunt brought her beautiful silver tea pots and made tea for the day and my grandmother made her famous punch (it was pink!) for the party. Hannah got to meet most of my Mom's friends which was so special for both my Mom and me to watch. Hannah was all dressed up for the occasion. Mom had a special dress made for her that she wore and will wear for her 3 month photos, Easter and her baby dedication at church in May. It is gorgeous and she looked like a little angel. Here we are ready for the party!

Another fun occasion in March (probably more for me than anyone) is March Madness. Most of you know, I'm a huge Memphis Tigers fan and the 2010-2011 season has been less than thrilling. Well, the Tigers made it to their conference championship and if we won that day we would be headed to the NCAAs. I dressed Hannah up for the occasion and we won so I'm convinced she's the Tigers good luck charm! Here she is all dressed up in her "Tigers" outfit.

Our other big adventure this month was our trip to Sea Island for spring break! We went down the week Mom was off work and had such a good time. Fortunately, the weather was really nice and we were able to sit by the pool everyday. The pool was heated so Curt and I put Hannah in the pool several times. She loves the water...she would kick her little feet and smile! When we took her out she was so mad! She would scream and cry so Curt and I think she's going to take after me and be a swimmer (I'm hoping)! Our dear family friends, the Dyers, were also able to come down a few days before Neil's golf tournament at Jekyll Island. Here are some photos from our trip.

Lunch at Gnat's Landing the day we arrived!

All dressed up for dinner at the Lodge on our first night.

Meeting her friend Hayes for the first time! Hayes is our friend's Josh and Hollis' little girl and she's 10 months. They live in Sea Island so it's always fun to see them when we go down.

She loves Nini's charm bracelets!

Sleeping in her Albo's arms.

She loved her Uncle Neil.

Family photo the last night of our trip.

The day after we got home from the beach, Curt and I took our first trip by ourselves since Hannah was born. We went to New Orleans for my friend, Laura Napoli's, wedding. We had such a nice trip and it was great to spend some time alone. Curt took me to dinner at Emeril's Delmonico on Friday night which was fabulous. We spent Saturday eating more (what else to do in NOLA?) and walking around the French Quarter. And, of course, we spent alot of time at Harrah's playing blackjack! We got to spend time with our friends Erin and Colt and Meredith and Christopher too! It was so much fun but we were so excited to get home to Hannah on Sunday.

As April approaches, there are more exciting changes coming our way. Saturday the 2nd is Mamaw's (Curt's grandmother) 80th birthday and Nana's (Curt's mom) birthday. Marsha is hosting a big party to celebrate Mamaw's big day. The 4th is a big day too-my 27th bday and Curt's first day of work at his new job. The 6th is my first day back at work after being off with Hannah for 12 weeks. So, we have a big week/weekend ahead!
